ESP WiFi does not require much voltage or current, this module delivers the correct voltage and current when the battery powering it can not. This module can step up the battery voltage from 0.8V to 3.3V with little current draw. The ESP WiFi module will shut down in to lower the current allowing the device to use little power from the battery.
